About Tev Bourque

Producer | Musician | Educator

Tev Bourque’s journey in music began as a child, composing melodies on piano that would eventually lead him to form several bands and later carve out his own path as a solo artist. His passion for music has taken him far beyond the stage—literally. In 2012, Tev travelled to Niamey, Niger, where he built a recording studio from the ground up, offering affordable recording services to local musicians and NGOs.

In 2014, Tev returned home to Ottawa, Ontario, to complete the Music Industry Arts program at Algonquin College and launch Tev Sound, a creative space dedicated to producing and nurturing local talent. Since then, Tev Sound has become a established member of Ottawa’s music community, working with countless musicians and organizations. Tev is proud to be an active member of the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC), championing collaboration and growth within the local scene.

When he’s not in the studio, Tev shares his expertise as a professor in Algonquin College’s Music Industry Arts and Music Media and Film Foundations programs. His work often takes him to Canada’s Arctic, where he partners with Inuit musicians and communities to create and celebrate music that bridges cultures.

Outside of music, Tev enjoys baking sourdough bread, oil painting, travelling, and writing.
